Research Interest: I
have considerable expertise in the fields of microbiology, Cell biology,
Infectious disease biology, Immunology and Virology. Additionally, I
have for long been associated in drug target discovery/screening
initiatives to identify compounds and host proteins that act as barriers
to viral and bacterial infections.
Research Interest: In general, our area of R&D is on
epidemiology and diagnosis of intestinal parasites, with emphasis in
intestinal protozoa. Nowadays, most of the researches focus on
intestinal parasites with emphasis on the protozoa Giardia and also,
Cryptosporidium, Blastocystis and Dientamoeba fragilis. Investigations
on molecular and genetic characterization of isolates collected from
humans, animals and environmental samples have been carried out for a
better understanding of the epidemiology and public health significance
of infections caused by these parasites
