Guidelines for Special Issues

Special issues are important sections in all the journals published under Peertechz Publications Private Limited. Special Issue tempts the authors to write articles of high quality within the scope of the journal.

In order to make the concept of special issue easily understandable by the interested group of authors, we have segregated it in different stages:

Stage 1- Initial proposal and manuscripts assortment

While submitting the proposals for Special Issues, the Editors must oversee that the proposal is focusing on the aims & scope and an important area of existing journal.

The sequence and format for Special Issue Proposal is as follows:

Journal Name on which the Special Issue Title is coined

  1. Special Issue Title
  2. Guest Editors details
  3. Submission Deadline
  4. Issue release Deadline
  5. Potential Authors list
  6. Overview of proposed Special Issue title

Assortment of manuscripts depends on the motivating initial proposal. The editors may invite colleagues or other authors to submit their manuscripts. For this purpose, they can request the editorial office for an official Email ID. If the Editor is occupied in some other work they can seek the help of editorial office for inviting authors on his behalf.

Stage 2- Review and Revision of the special issue

Authors are suggested to oversee the flowchart for better understanding of Peertechz’s editorial review procedure.

Once a manuscript is submitted to a Special Issue, it will be checked by the Special Issue Editors/ Guest Editors/ Journal Quality Team as per the availability. This scrutiny is to ensure academic value, subject orientation and suitability for the peer review process.

After checking the suitability of the manuscript, the Lead Guest Editor ensures whether the submission is arising any conflict of interest of any community, in general. In case there is no conflict of interest, the Lead Guest Editor evaluates the manuscript on the quality basis. He/she then assigns the manuscript to guest editors and external referees’ for review and revision of the manuscript.

On the basis of the report submitted by the guest editors, Special Issue Editor is authorized to take any one of the following decisions:

  1. The manuscript is appropriate for the publication without any modifications.
  2. The manuscript requires undergoing suggested minor modifications before going for publication.
  3. The manuscript requires undergoing suggested major modifications before going for publication.
  4. The manuscript is not appropriate according the Journal standards and liable to be rejected.

Stage 3- Final Decision-making after Peer review process

Peertechz confer authority to the Guest Editors to make decisions in all stages of the review and revision process; however it is ensured that the editors adhere to the established guidelines of Peertechz, including the Statement of Editorial Policy, Code of Ethics, Instructions for Contributors, Guidelines for Reviewers and style guide. The Peertechz’s editors work with the Guest Editors for providing assistance in helping to further develop the proposal and the Call for Papers, and to agree upon a consolidated editorial team for the special issue.

Stage 4- Special issue publication or rejection

When manuscripts are initially accepted, it is on sole discretion of Peertechz whether the manuscript will be considered for special issue or regular issue of the journal. The final decision as to which manuscripts appear in the Special Issue, how and when the manuscripts will be published or the reasons for the rejection of the manuscripts is notified to the authors.

The maximum length of the special issue depends on several aspects, such as,

  1. The agreed-upon list of manuscripts to be included in the Special Issue.
  2. The order in which the manuscripts are to appear in the Special Issue.
  3. The introductory Article for the Special Issue.
  4. A list of all editors/reviewers for the Special Issue and their affiliations.
